These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Story Weaver, a personalized children's book service operated by Troven Inc. ("Troven", "we", "us") of Guelph, Ontario, Canada. By placing an order, you agree to these Terms.
You upload photos and tell us about your child. We generate a personalized story and lay it out around your photos. You review and approve the complete book. We then print and ship it, and provide a digital copy.
Books are printed by a third-party print-on-demand partner and shipped directly to you.
You must be at least 18 years old to use Story Weaver. The service is intended for adults purchasing a book for a child. Children do not create accounts or use the service directly.
By uploading photos, you confirm that you have the right to use them for this purpose — that you took them, own them, or have permission from whoever does.
You are responsible for ensuring that photos of other people, including children, are uploaded with appropriate consent. If you are not the child's parent or legal guardian, you should have their permission before uploading photos of that child.
You retain all ownership of your photos. You grant Troven a limited licence to use them solely to produce the book you ordered — including sending the finished book file to our print partner for manufacturing — and for no other purpose. This licence ends when your photos are deleted, as described in our Privacy Notice.
We reserve the right to decline or cancel any order, with a full refund, if the submitted material is unlawful, depicts a child in a manner that raises a safeguarding concern, infringes someone else's rights, or is otherwise inappropriate for a children's book. This is a judgment we make at our sole discretion.
The story is generated with the assistance of AI, based on the information you provide about your child and the photos you upload. Every book is different.
Because the story is generated rather than hand-written by an author, your review and approval is the quality gate — see Section 6. If a story does not suit your child, tell us before approving and we will regenerate it.
Nothing is printed until you approve it. You review every page of your book — the story, the photos, and how they are laid out — before anything goes to print.
By clicking Approve, you confirm that you have reviewed the complete book and that it is correct and ready to print. Because each book is manufactured individually to your specification, approval is the point at which your order becomes final.
Prices are shown at checkout in Canadian dollars and are exclusive of shipping and applicable taxes, which are calculated at checkout. Payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
We may change prices at any time. The price that applies to your order is the price shown at the time you check out.
Before approval: you may cancel your order at any time before you click Approve, for a full refund.
After approval: because each book is personalized and manufactured individually, all sales are final once you have approved the book and it has been sent to print. We do not offer refunds for an approved order that was printed as approved.
Damaged or defective books: if your book arrives damaged, misprinted, or with a manufacturing defect, contact us within 14 days of delivery with a photo of the problem and we will reprint and reship it at no charge.
Lost in transit: if your book does not arrive within a reasonable period after the estimated delivery window, contact us and we will work with the printer and carrier to resolve it, including reprinting where appropriate.
Books are printed and shipped by our print-on-demand partner directly to the address you provide. Delivery typically takes 2–3 weeks from the date your order is sent to print, though this can vary by destination and season.
You are responsible for providing an accurate shipping address. We cannot change the address once an order has been sent to print, and we are not responsible for orders delivered to an incorrect address you supplied.
Delivery estimates are estimates, not guarantees. Once an order is submitted to the printer, delays caused by the printer, the carrier, customs, or weather are outside our control.
A PDF digital copy is included with every order. It is licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use — you may print it, share it with family, and keep it indefinitely. It may not be resold, distributed commercially, or used to produce copies for sale.
Download links are available for a limited period after your order is complete. Please save your copy.
You own your photos. Troven owns the Story Weaver software, templates, layouts, and branding. The generated story text in your book is licensed to you for personal use as part of the book you purchased.
Your photos and personal information are handled as described in our Story Weaver Privacy Notice, which forms part of these Terms.
The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any generated story will meet a particular expectation — which is why the approval step in Section 6 exists.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Troven's total liability arising out of or relating to these Terms or any order shall not exceed the amount you paid for that order. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable Ontario or Canadian law, including any statutory consumer rights you may have.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The revised version will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date. The Terms that apply to your order are those in effect at the time you place it.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario.
