Story Weaver is a service operated by Troven Inc. ("Troven", "we", "us") of Guelph, Ontario, Canada. This notice explains what we collect when you create a book, what we do with it, who else sees it, and when it is deleted.
The short version: your photos are used to make your book and nothing else. They are never sold and never used to train any AI model. To print and ship a physical book, the finished book file and your shipping address are sent to our print partner. Photos are deleted automatically once your book is fulfilled.
To create a book, we collect:
Payment is processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. Stripe handles card data directly under its own privacy policy and security standards.
Your photos are used for one thing: making your book.
They are never sold. They are never used to train any AI model. They are not shared with anyone except as described in Section 3 below, which covers what is required to actually print and ship the book you ordered.
Photos are stored on private servers located in Canada and are not accessible to anyone outside Troven.
Producing and delivering a book requires a small number of service providers. Each receives only what it needs:
Some of these providers operate outside Canada, which means your information may be processed in another country and be subject to that country's laws. We do not sell your information to anyone, and we do not share it for advertising or marketing purposes.
Photos are deleted automatically. You do not need to request it.
In all cases, photos are deleted no later than 30 days after upload.
After your photos are deleted, we retain a limited record of your order — your name, email address, what you ordered, and the transaction record — for accounting, tax, and customer-service purposes, as required by Canadian law. Your child's name, age, and interests are deleted along with the photos.
Story Weaver is a service for adults — parents, grandparents, and other family members — purchasing a book for a child. It is not directed at children, and children do not create accounts or use the service directly.
You must be at least 18 years old to use Story Weaver, and you are responsible for having the right to upload any photo you submit. If you are not the child's parent or guardian, you should have their permission before uploading photos of that child.
We process photos and information about a child solely to produce the book you ordered, and for no other purpose. We do not build profiles, we do not use this information for advertising, and we do not retain it after your book is fulfilled.
Photos and order data are stored on private servers in Canada with access restricted to authorized Troven personnel. Data is encrypted in transit. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach ever created a real risk of significant harm to you, we would notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada as required under Canadian privacy law.
You may at any time:
Email mikem@troven.ca and we will confirm deletion within 5 business days. Note that once a printed book has been sent to the printer, we cannot recall the file from that process — but we will delete everything we hold.
We may update this notice as the service develops. The revised version will be posted here with a new "Last updated" date. If a change materially affects how we handle your information, we will notify customers by email.
